The Electric Eel Wheel Nano is an affordable and travel friendly espinner that spins your fiber into beautiful yarn! It is great for both new spinners and for experienced spinners looking for a fully functional spinning wheel.
When purchasing pick between blue and black colors for the base. You’ll get two blue, two light gray, and two green bobbins (6 bobbins total). Each bobbin holds around 2 ounces of yarn.
Each package includes everything you need to start spinning:
- EEW Nano
- 6 Bobbins
- USB power cord with switch
- Orifice Reducer
- Orifice hook
- Spin card to help measure your yarn
- User Manual
The orifice hole is about 6mm (about 1/4 inch) in diameter when using the orifice reducer and if that’s removed then the orifice hole is 16mm (over 1/2 inch). Our Instagram page has many photos using the EEW Nano to spin all sorts of yarn. If you are looking to make it more portable check out our guide explaining what type of battery pack to use.
This comes with a North American style USB charger, if you live in other countries with different wall plugs you’ll need to provide your own USB wall charger (2A+) or use a USB battery pack.
You can get video and text instruction for the EEW Nano here.

So very happy with my Nano. She just arrived this morning and am on the second bobbin of spinning fun. Spin On!

So happy with my Nano!
I’m so excited to have this little thing! It’s adorable and spins well. Maurice is super fast at helping with any minor issues that may arise and the EEW-owning community is wonderful about offering advice and tips.
I’m so happy I backed this project. I had only just started spinning on spindles when the Kickstarter went live, and it seemed like the perfect first wheel for a neophyte like me. I could not be more pleased with the Nano!

The Electric Eel Wheel Nano is fantastic. The quality is great and there’s such attention to detail. I love the little magnetic holder for the hook. It powers off USB for flexibility and even runs well from my solar charger.

This is my first personal espinner although I have used others. This is so easy to use and so portable. I see many happy adventures
Absolutely wonderful. I would not only recommend this to any spinner, but also anyone looking to get children interested in crafting because it’s so portable and easy to use.

The Nano – which I have, of course, named Nanu – works straight out of the box. I am spinning so fine! 😍💗🥳
It is everything [and more!] I had hoped for. I wish I could post a picture of Nanu, *laden* with lace-weight black llama. I love it.
I recently received my nano and have been getting to know it. Overall I’m delighted with my experience. It is very cute and portable and extremely cost effective. The design is quite clever and I love the magnetic orifice hook in particular.
It runs well on mains power or battery. It is slower than some other spinning wheels but I found this quick to adjust to. This wheel isn’t suitable for production spinning but should be ideal for learners or as a travel wheel for experienced spinners.
Maurice has been great with his communication throughout and the online community has also been helpful and friendly. I would be happy to recommend the nano based on my experience so far.
A beautifully made little wheel. So light and portable, spins like a dream. Backup service is also excellent.

Love, love, love it 😍

Love my little nano. Spins like a dream and was pleasantly surprised at the capacity! Managed 57 grams (about 2oz) superfine merino on my very first bobbin! Thanks Maurice, this was the best kickstarter ever.
Kerry Sutherland –
Excellent! So portable and convenient. I love it.

Can’t say enough good things about this wheel. Portable, lightweight, practical. Can spin and ply a variety of fibers with ease. Works swiftly and efficiently on both standard electric wall plug in or with a battery pack. Had hours of fun spinning and singing the praises for this wheel at the Alaska State Fair.

An excellent little travel wheel.
I’ve had my Nano for 10 days now and I love it. It worked as expected straight out of the box – it’s not a production wheel, but it’s not intended to be. It does exactly what it’s supposed to, which is be a light, portable, affordable electric spinning wheel.
As someone who’s never been a fan of scotch tension spinning wheels, I was blown away at how gentle this wheel is – the take up is as easy as it is on my double drive treadle wheel. And as a dedicated lace weight spinner I love the fact that this wheel will easily spin as fine as I want to go.
As others have stated, this is the perfect entry wheel to not only e-spinning, but learning to spin as well. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who’s interested but who cannot afford the average e-spinner or new treadle wheel.
I’m now waiting for Maurice’s next version – it can’t come soon enough for me.

When I got my Nano, I was spinning straight out of the box. I was eager to try her. I named her Beauty, because she was beautiful. I soon found out I needed to do a few very minor tweaks. The flyer arms needed to be rotated so the yarn guides were in the correct position. Not a big problem. Just a matter of using a screwdriver. The tension needed to be worked with. Again, not a big problem. My Beauty was now ready to go again. I’ve had to do more tweaks on my more expensive treadle wheels than on my little Beauty.
The EEW community all came together with their helpful tweaks and it was nice to see everyone’s Nanos. This little E-Wheel has enabled so many spinners to spin where they couldn’t before. Maurice has made it affordable and possible. This wheel has been a dream come true and I have no problem recommending it.

I got my Nano in the mail on Friday, and began to spin with it today. Once you figure out how to control the tension, it is fairly easy and fun to spin with. I’ve already spun a bobbin of lace weight alpaca, and look forward to doing some more tomorrow. My motor does seem to get a little hot, but I checked it out in the FAQ section. I may have caused that when I was first playing with the tension.

This came about because I had a little accident with my main spinning wheel and I wanted a spinner to take with me that I could easily handle. The Nano has perfectly filled my need. I have spent a small and enjoyable bit of time learning my wheel. Now she is so much fun I am preferring to spin on Nellie Nano. I’m very happy I have her and been a part of the Kickstarter. Thank you Maurice.
Daphne Basnet –
I love my Nano. I have already spun over 300 grams of fibre in a week. It is so easy to use and so simple to control. My spinning has improved and I now carry it everywhere with me. Thanks Maurice, I am very grateful to you.

I’m still waiting for mine with great anticipation but I need to get a battery pack for my nano mini. Does anyone know what kind I should get or the specifications?
Here are some battery pack options: https://www.dreamingrobots.com/eew-battery-power/

Got my wheel today!
I’m a spinner with full-size wheels, a Pocket Wheel, a Charkha Book, and more than a handful of drop/support spindles of all types. But this Nano is in a class of its own. It’s just so darn….engaging! I travel all over the world, and this wheel will pack perfectly–even the bobbins break down to a compact size. All in all, it works out to be just slightly larger than a box of Pop Tarts.
I spin silk and cotton, and this wheel is a dream for those fibers. Love love love it!

Maurice’s customer service is outstanding. My Nano arrived and spun great, but the speed control wasn’t working. It only spun at 100 mph. I emailed him the next day and let my know my issue. He said there was a problem with the circuit board, and mailed me the part the next day. I removed 2 screws and loosened 2 other screws, popped out the defective part, popped in the new one and screwed everything back in place. Problem solved. Not only did Maurice send me the new circuit board, he also sent extra an one, along with another bobbin, all at no charge. Thank you Dreaming Robots. Love your products how much you care about customer satisfaction.

Its exactly what I was looking for! My current wheel isnt the best: the tension tugs and the highest ratio is still pretty slow. This e spinner is so cute but goes so fast, and most importantly it spins so smoothly I spun 100% baby alpaca with ease. The only noteworthy drawback is that the heavier the bobbin gets, the slower it spins, easy to compensate for by adjusting the knob unless you’re already spinning max speed, even so, with a full bobbin it still spins faster than my wheel and thats all I really wanted. If the heavy-bobbin/slower-spin issue is fixed with the EEW 6, I would invest in it lickity split
The EEW 6.0 is a much faster wheel, but feel free to wait and see what others think about it after it has been released. I’m sure the reviews will be good, but since you just got and EEW Nano I’d enjoy that.

I am an avid spinner (addict) and have full size wheels from Ashford Traditional to Schacht Matchless (with all the different size whorls) and an Ashford e-spinner. Why would I want the Nano? In short, it’s fantastic and can do things my big wheels cannot! I can take it with me in my purse (I have a long trip ahead of me for which this will be great) and I have it plugged into my laptop on my desk. I am an IT consultant and find myself sitting in front of my laptop a lot waiting for software to update, or talking to clients. I like to spin silk on it…Bombyx spins really well on this cute little spinner (and cotton too-I also have a Charkha!) and these fibers also travel well in a little baggie in my purse or backpack. It has a tiny footprint and is light, making it easy to move around on my desk. I travel with my laptop so I don’t even need to bring an extra battery pack. I can see how this sweet little e-spinner could be nice for a novice spinner, or for children learning to spin. It definitely fits a niche for fiber spinning. I also am a backer on Kickstarter for Maurice’s latest EEW 6, which I am sure will fit right in with all the other wheels I have. I also like the ease with which the little Nano can be maintained. I bought, at minor cost, an extra motor, drive band for when I wear out the current one. So affordable. The design of the feet is pretty cool – there are slots/holes so that one could easily affix the Nano to a board to anchor it (thought I have not needed to do this) for working on slippery services, and easily remove it when wanting to take it somewhere. The design is ingenious and Maurice keeps improving it. Very clever, cute and sexy! And finally, customer service – Maurice knocks it out of the park. Maurice responds to emails very quickly, is very helpful and it’s obvious he wants us to be very satisfied with his product. A+++++++
Thank you Dreaming Robots and Maurice for a beautiful, useful and very affordable device!
Hi, I would like to know more information to spin and twist cotton and wool threads, maximum threads.

Wow-this little thing is the funnest! I’m totally in love with it. I was spinning within five minutes of having it out of the box. Maybe three minutes. I had watched the video beforehand, so knew what to do. And I got my kids on it!
I’m sold, EEWs are the bomb. When the big one comes out (V.6), I’m going to get one of those, too. I imagine that will be really great for plying.

I have quite a few wheels. The Nano is the one I use the most. I am a naturally fine spinner, and the Nano makes this a breeze. I’ve had mine for a year now, and it is so good for traveling, as well as a good production wheel for very fine yarn. Can’t recommend it enough.

I love my EEW Nano! I had never spun before and a couple of you tube videos and a little learning curve, and presto! I made yarn! This wheel is awesome and very easy to use! Love that it is tiny and can store easily too!

This was like the best purchase ever. I got my little spinner on Friday and had it up and running almost immediately. I am thrilled with how well it spins and the affordability!!
It spins right out of the box. I have my first small test skein of yarn already drying after setting the twist.
I screwed mine to a plaque board and put non-slip shelf liner on the bottom and then created more minutely adjustable scotch tension for it that is attached to my board.

I am so happy with my Nano purchase. I have a manual spinning wheel with many flyers – I can spin from cobweb to bulky art yarns. I mostly stick with sock weight yarn. The Nano is easy to use and spins very well (fast enough for me). I purchased the Nano because I always need to be doing something with my hands when I am on conference calls. I actually find it easier to concentrate and participate during the call. I used to draw/doodle, but now I put the Nano on my desk (at home) and spin. This little spinner is amazing. When I can travel again, I will be taking her with me.
Love my Nano. Compact and fits on my craft desk easily.

I love my little Nano2. Having been a spinner since 2008 on traditional treadle wheels, I was reluctant to try an e-spinner. But a friend of mine let me try a Nano1 and convenience of having a tiny, portable wheel was too promising to pass up, especially with the affordability of this little wheel, as well as the recent improvements in the new version (switch and guidehooks and more robust motor) Well, I am so impressed with no only the portability and affordability, but how it performs. I’ve always struggled to spin very fine yarns, such as cotton and silk. This little wheel can spin cobweb, if I want. It is so easygoing and to work with. It never grabs the fiber greedily, but allows me to spin fine and feed it in. Such a treat to spin fine, and then just pack it away in the little lunch box case I bought to transport it. How I treasure and appreciate this Nano2.
