Absolutely love the cone winder. Yes, I did mount it to a board to make it easier to clamp to my work table. I also cut a small piece of wood as a measuring template for the recommended distance between the winder and the tensioner.
I use it to wind skeins, whether handspun or commercially purchased, onto cones for making warps or winding bobbins for weaving. I also use it to turn one large cone of weaving yarn into 2 (or more) cones so I can hold multiple ends when making warps.
Having this tool in an affordable version for a home hobbyist is fantastic! Really grateful to have it.

I agree to mount it on a 12” x 6’ board…or whatever you have. I’ve wound some big cones with this winder and I love it!

Highly recommend mounting it to a 1×10 to make it easier to use over time! I love this cone winder easy to set up, and does exactly what it should. Does it make a little noise, sure! But any piece of equipment does. Also the fact that it is electric tickles me and makes my arm and shoulder very happy.

This cone winder is an absolute game changer for me. There is no other on the market for this market segment( meaning small artisan). I get nervous when I don’t hear many people talking about it because it has been so important for me. I’ve been trying to “sell it ” to other artists. I hope they buy it.

Awesome! Love this! I often buy yarn in bulk so this is great for dividing it into manageable pieces, and winding up after dyeing yarn.
My only suggestion would be to come up with a variable arm and cone holder so you can use any cone no matter the size and not have to change out the parts every time.
