Battery Packs
The EEW Fold comes with a wall power cord. It becomes even more portable when paired with a compatible battery pack (not included).
USB C Power Bank Option
For this option you need a USB C power bank that supports Power Delivery (PD) of 65W or more and supports 15V output. This INIU Power Bank has been tested and works well. You will also need this USB C to 15V 3A cable which connects from the EEW Fold to the power bank.
12V Battery Option
These battery option works fine, but the EEW Fold will not run at full speed. It will still go over 2000 RPMs which is more than fast enough for most spinners, but if you want to go at maximum speed you need a 15V battery.
The TalentCell 12V 6000mAh provides over 8 hours of use and installs into the bottom case easily. It comes with the cable required to power the EEW Fold. Other batteries with 12V output of 3A and a 2.5×5.5mm barrel connector should work.
International Power
The EEW Fold comes with a Type A North American style power plug. The power supply works with different voltages around the world so if you don’t have that type of plug you can either use a travel adapter or get a “c7 power cord“.
Troubleshooting
The most common cause for vibration is an unbalanced flyer. Ensure that the two unused sliding hooks are directly across from the two being used. Also, check that one set of hooks face upwards and one set faces downwards. This ensures that the weight is evenly distributed on the flyer and only matters at higher speeds.
If your tension string breaks frequently, smooth out any small rough edges in the bobbin grooves.
Any type of similar string can be used as a replacement. The one that ships with the EEW Fold is cotton, but some people prefer different fiber types. People who spin fine yarn sometimes prefer a thinner tension string. Feel free to experiment.
